Joyce Lo
Joyce Lo (she/her) is a dance and collaborative artist, educator, and choreographer whose movement practice is rooted in classical ballet and shaped by contemporary and modern dance forms.
She graduated magna cum laude with an Honours BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography from York University in Toronto and later earned her Master of Fine Arts in Dance from Montclair State University. Alongside her formal education, she has pursued international dance training and performance opportunities in London, Paris, Tokyo, and Rome, including at the inaugural New Waves Dance and Performance Institute in Trinidad & Tobago.
Her broader work in dance extends to film, writing, production, and music. Her dance films have been selected for screening at international film festivals, including the LA Dance Film Festival, and her writing has been published in the academic journal Dance Education in Practice. She has also worked as a stage manager for Launch Dance Center and West Coast Ballet and is a freelance music editor for choreographers and dance educators.
Joyce is a registered teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance and holds a Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies. She has extensive experience teaching ballet, contemporary dance, and conditioning to students of all ages and levels.
